Thanksgiving is the season to be mindful of all of our many blessings and to express gratitude for them from deep within our hearts. Being grateful creates positive thoughts; having positive thoughts increases your sense of well-being and fosters resilience, which helps you to better weather the storms of life. So, why would you choose to complain when you could choose gratitude and reap all of its benefits? What if you stood back and became the observer of yourself for one day. In one hand, your observer holds a red positive bucket and in the other hand, he or she is holding a black negative bucket. Every positive or negative thought that you have materializes as a coin that goes into each respective bucket. Which bucket is heavier at the end of the day? Picture your observer walking slowly with your buckets at midnight to empty their contents into the Universal Feeling Weigh Station, which tallies the world’s sums of positive and negative feelings collected from all of its inhabitants. The balance of positive vs. negative feelings affects the energy of the Earth itself. Are you doing your part to create a sense of gratitude, well-being and resilience in your life and in the world? I challenge you to turn your little observer on as you sink into the delicious warmth of gratitude. Feel your heart brimming with thankfulness for all of your blessings. Picture your positive bucket overflowing with the currency of gratitude, generosity, hope and love. Whatever you give out into the world will come back to you in greater measure.
