Thanksgiving was an adventure as a child. We dressed in our Sunday - TopicsExpress

Thanksgiving was an adventure as a child. We dressed in our Sunday best, trekked down the Garden State Parkway in the Buick station wagon (occasionally Dad let me throw the toll quarter from the backseat window), and arrived at Aunt Ruths. Aunt Ruth wasnt actually an aunt, she was a first-cousin-once -removed, her dad and my Grandfather were brothers. Anyway, childhood thanksgiving memories at Aunt Ruths are plentiful - great food, laughter, billiards, and Grandma Grettas silver dollars (again not sure of the true relation of Grandma Gretta but she gave me a shiny new silver dollar every Thanksgiving). This week Jesus brought Aunt Ruth home. This Thanksgiving I give thanks for a rich life lived, abundant loving family, and a joyous time in heaven.
