Vishwas Patil in his book Mahanayak at Page 254 illustrate the stay of Mahatma Gandhi to the house of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The Bose Family vacated the first floor for Gandhi ji after leaving their dedicated rooms. Mahadev Desai, the PA of Mahatma Gandhi asked about the arrangement of Goat Milk. He was notified by Vibhavati that it had been arranged, but Desai replied back the fresh Milk was required. Sarat asked to get a goat for the same but Desai informed that at least a dozen goats are required to select a right one. After the complete days hard work, Sarat Bose arranged 12 goats. Desai came downstairs and checked the goats and selected only one who was eyeing to him directly and was aggressive too much. Desai told that Gandhiji would like the milk of such aggressive and passionate Goats. Sarat Bose said silently to Vibhawati that, Our Sarojini was right, it was too much expensive to make Gandhiji our host. After one hour, Ghanshyam Das Birla arrived with Devdas son of Gandhi who was employed with Birla. GD Birla didnt give any reply to the salutation (abhivadan) of Bose Family and was angered. He shouted at Desai, Why you came here and didnt come to my palace? Desai replied, The program was already fixed four months earlier. Birla said, Then what? Did you know I was the sole companion of Mahatma Gandhi during Round Table Conference in London as the only one representative of Indian Businessmen? Gandhiji could not pass even a single minute without me and here you all were doing a drama. Desai thought its better to keep quiet as he knew that Birla had more importance for Gandhiji than anyone else and he was the reason behind the regular publication of Harijan (a newspaper by Gandhi). Without listening any thing, Birla went straightaway to Gandhiji and spent four hours there. After coming back, Birla shouted to Mahadev Desai, I had talked with Gandhiji. You had to come with him to reside at my palace just after two days. One day Birla was in the room of Gandhiji and Vibhavati went their to serve the food. Birla asked her in front of Gandhiji in a taunting statement, Were these vegetables afresh? Had you cooked them properly? Vibhawati began crying and ran away to her room. Sarat had consoled her and was fed up of the attempts of Birla to take Gandhiji with him to his palace. One day, Devdas told Gandhiji in the veranda at Ground Floor that we should leave for Birlas Palace to stay there. Pandit Dwivedi heard this and told them, Why? Had Birla passed a resolution that Gandhiji would always stay with him at his palace? Gandhiji was smiling.
