That Abak Empowerment Service Today! 1.0 I always love going back to Abak. Not many people know it, but Abak and I have a bond which goes back a long way. I started my broadcasting career in 1993, at the AM Station of AKBC, along Hospital Road, Abak! 2.0 One of the three major reasons I jumped at Pastor Uko Udohs last Thursday/Friday invitation for me to speak during the Empowerment Service of FRESH WORD CHURCH today. I got into Abak at 9.45am and after driving around for thirty minutes (to satisfy my nostalgia), I hooked up with Item and Akan, my two Abak-based friends who by the way will become husband and wife on 30th December and 3rd January, 2015! 3.0 No fooling, FRESH WORD CHURCH is beautiful. No, that is an understatement. Its better described in Latin: ufok Abasi ado ayaya baaad. I was wowed by how Pastor Uko Udoh and his ever-supportive wife had played with colour and space; by how they had dug so deep into Abak just four years after moving from Uyo and above all, by the massive holy romance that they had created with their congregation, peopled mainly by very lively youngsters. I shall keep going back. While I hope my contribution touched/taught someone, let me thank Pastor/Pastor (Mrs.) Uko Udoh and their four children, and the congregation as well as Mr./Mrs (to be) Akan Ukpanah.
