That Homeless man A man, limping through the streets Hot and hungry With barely anything to eat. Though its getting hotter He walks through the cars Trying to sell cold water. He holds up a sign Turns out he has a daughter. He sends her what little he has every month, She lives at his sisters house And her life plainly sucks. No one believes him Yet he holds up the same sign every day And His chances of beating this sarcoma is slim. No money for medical treatment And no ones knows his story, or parts that fragment. No one can walk a foot in his shoes, They dont understand, they have everything to lose. Its summer now, and he needs to find somewhere shaded His clothes so old Long since faded He begs for money day by day And he is hated. Its cloudy, hurricane warning. The storm is close, its forming. Its raining hard now, and he has nothing to sleep in. The saddest part? He is a 30 year Veteran.
