That day, the mid of August (15), the mid of the week (Wednesday), - TopicsExpress

That day, the mid of August (15), the mid of the week (Wednesday), I don’t know if it was the mid of the day (12noon), some three decades ago, a bouncing baby boy was born into the family of Evang. & Mrs. Joseph Kehinde Akinsoji, the third surviving boy! I grew & developed strongly but later in my infancy, I was plagued by illnesses which made me a caricature of myself (that’s why I never had childhood photos). My mother (senior abiyamo of the universe) sought help in herbal medicine called ‘Agbo’ (most practice of mothers then) to cure me from these illnesses coupled with regular visits to the doctors. All proved abortive! My body became drug itself due to the loads of medicines (both herbal & orthodox) I took while young (infact my mum still attributed my eating habits to the lots of vitamins & blood tonics I took when I was young). Then one day (I don’t know the day), my mum said I died (well to her I wasn’t breathing again). She wrapped me up & then kept me behind the couch expecting my dad to arrival from work to take care of my lifeless body. She told me that she took a bath & put on a clean dress marking the end of her predicament! That same day, she was visited by her business partner (soft trade businesses) who took her time in discussing business. After much discussion, her partner asked of me. My mum responded by saying “He is dead”. She couldn’t believe her ears. She asked “Where am I”? She checked behind the couch where I was kept & to her surprise, I was breathing (God restored me when all hope seems to be lost). That day marked the beginning of my healing, a fresh start at life! I grew to become a wonderful, godly (born again, spirit-filled, tongue speaking Christian), handsome, intelligent & a smart boy. I cannot begin to tell you of my ordeal through all the schools I attended (Ottun N/P Sch., Egbado (Yewa) College Ilaro (boarding sch.), Methodist High Sch. Ifo, Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye & presently Obafemi Awolowo University Ife). But I can say through all, it has been God, My Father. So many situations & circumstances have shaped me into what & who I am today. I bless God for being with me in all my years so far on earth, nurturing me since I surrendered my life to Him almost two decades ago. I bless Him for all the promises He had fulfilled, those He is fulfilling & those He would fulfill. All I can say to Him now is: Olorun to da awon oke igbani Eyin ni mo fi ope mi fun Tani ngo tun gbega o Bii kose Baba loke Tani ngo tun fi gbogbo ope mi fun Olorun to da awon oke igbani Eyin ni mo fi ope mi fun For all I have been through, I know indeed that I am Iseoluwa. Happy birthday to me, Akinsoji Olatinwo Ishola Iseoluwa ‘OlaSprinkles”. I appreciate your phone calls, text messages, facebook posts, whatsapp chats, bbm dps & pms. Thank for celebrating my day with me! God bless you abundantly.
