That embarrassing moment when ……Your b&b guests arrive off the very late ferry and are smiling , nodding , pouring on your every word making eye contact non verbally acknowledging, as you are welcoming them by talking your head off…. and you finally stop for a breath and for a response only to realize that they are Russian Mongolian Polish Jews who have not understood a word you said…. Now its midnight… you waited all day for them occasionally cussing them for not notifying you of a time of arrival as the others did.. So you are trying to be nice and overcome your resentment.. you try again but now flailing your arms in the air gesticulating with staccato broken up words….. are air writing.. trying to get a response as to what time to prepare their breakfast .. With a shrug of the shoulders they head for bed.. Their short stay is a frustrating, confusing comedy of errors but they LOVE the food and especially they do get my Piaf songs.. Throughout their camera flashes in my un madeup face of 3 hours sleep … But it was worth every moment as again my ego was through the roof to their exuberant gratitude and appreciation…. So now I can nap as the early morning 5AM guests were happy, left me goodies TOBLERONE chocolate and cheesies [ironically what they left was as good as the take out lunch I made them…] The next ones, a lovely family of three sat down to my 3 course breakfast left early for the grizzly bear excursion they were full and happy. Now my amazing adorable frustrating Jewish guests are on their merry way stating I have elevated their mood and their holiday.. All this and I can now recline for a rest at 8 am free now until my hair client arrives at 1 PM …. Oh well still housework and beds to make but free nevertheless.I LOVE MY LIFE
