That feeling when you tell the family you have to call the code...that it means their loved one is dead...what is it called? There is no name for something t So strong, so numbing, so dark and captivating...to have to look into their eyes after having looked into the soulless eyes of the dead. To hold that gaze and tell them their world will no longer be anywhere close to the same. That a giant void has just opened, that can never be filled. And to HOPE that wont hate you forever after this. That they wont curse the memory of you. How do you really describe that out of body experience? No, not everyone feels this every time it happens. But when it does occur...that feeling, that depth and somehow same lack of emotion...the severe contradiction of thoughts and feelings and numbness all clashing together as you stare into those tearfilled eyes, and watch the hope die out of them and see horror replace it...what are you supposed to call that?
