That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. One thing that is evident in our Focal Scripture is the fact Jesus was the Master, yet He washed the feet of His disciples. He was the Master, but He served His servants. He was superior, yet He served His inferiors. He was in charge, yet He served those He was in charge of. He had authority over His disciples, yet He bent low to serve them. Isn’t it true that when we are superior, we often want everyone to serve us? We often insist on being served by those under us but yet we are not always in a hurry to lend a helping hand to the same people who spend their lives serving us and working for us. Friend, glean a lesson of humility from Jesus: Learn to serve your inferiors. Lend a helping hand to people who are under you. Work for the progress of your subordinates. Be humble enough to assist people even when you are older than them. Be nice to people even when you are above them. Use your wealth to add value to those who are not as wealthy as you are. Use your wisdom and knowledge to protect the interest of people who are not as wise or knowledgeable as you are. God did not raise you to suppress those that are under you. The fact that Jesus washed the feet of His disciples didn’t stop Him from being their Master. The true test of your superiority does not lie in the ability of people to serve you; it lies in your own ability to humble yourself and serve others. Pray with me, “Lord, give me the heart of a servant and help me to serve people under me in Jesus name”. Have a Blessed Sunday!
