That last article below makes for somber reading but I did promise history in my About section top of page and Irish history makes for some of the worst cruelest history you will ever read about. I usually stick to the last 150 years or so but sometimes we must delve even deeper so that we can understand our past. . We see the nice little cottages dotted around the country but before these cottages we were living in what amounts to a burrow, dug out of the ground and covered with the grass sod. We all know or think we know how tough Irish life was but I assure you it was a terrible miserable existence forced upon us by our closest neighbours.. Ok enough said for now , I dont want to depress you to much. I will leave you with this thought. Those Irish that survived were the strongest and toughest , natural selection had seen to that. We are still a tough bunch today and yet you will not meet nicer more obliging people that will drop tools to help you if you are in a bind. Wouldnt it be nice to keep Ireland Irish.. and not just another part of the ever growing Europe ..
