That trip of Mr. President to OAU campus, issues to note: * Great Ife is probably the most cosmopolitan university in Nigeria with a very high students socio-political awareness * The State of Osun is opposition ground and has never believed in GEJ even when the whole country fell for the I had no shoes propaganda * The students just resumed from a three-month shut down * The school fees were rently increased and all efforts to get a reversal/reduction failed * The school semester exams were on going and students busy preparing for same * All vehicular movements were stopped in and out of the campus for the period * You can only appreciate the last point if you have visited the campus to know the distance between the gate and the campus center * The trip has nothing to do with the students, the school or its authorities and of course nothing to do with the Yoruba race * The trip was strictly self serving I have nothing against the gathering, the attendees or even Mr. President for his second term agenda, the constitution guarantee those rights. However, GEJ should sack whoever picked the campus for that event!!!
