That was an experience! I just spent the last several hours sending genuine compliments to EVERY individual on my friends list. Though my list is comparatively smaller than most, passing out over 150 genuine compliments was no easy feat. I was doused with responses of and thank yous and often confusion. I apologize for dismissing these at the time, as I had more compliments to give. Some of you I dont know particularly well, if at all, though I believe that every person possesses some good quality. Now why did I do this? I think the people that know me best would be able to attest that Im not happy unless Im bringing joy to others. In a way, this experiment was selfish, but in the most giving of ways...if that makes sense. To brighten your day is to fulfill mine. I care about people I dont know, and will go to the ends of the universe to create a little spark of happiness. Sometimes all we need, as human beings, is a little encouragement, reassurance, or a compliment to completely turn around our day. I also did this to spread the joy on a larger scale. I have a challenge for each of you. I will not, of course, ask you at message all your friends and pay them a compliment. Though, I believe that if Im able to compliment or give thanks to over 150 people, you can all handle 5. None of this meme/photo sharing of appreciation. Make it personal. Then, I ask that you comment below on how these 5 compliments and/or thanks effected your day and/or mood. How did it make you feel. Also, if you have been complimented, please comment below about how that made you feel. Now, I know that not everyone will do this, and Im fine with that. But If you can find time to spread a little joy, please do. Thank you all for your participation, Brad Gilbert of Gilbert & Stagg p.s. If you could be a fruitimal (animal made of fruit) Comment what you would be. I would be a Strawbear (Strawberry/Bear)
