That was the most bizarre moment. I woke up to the sound of hurricane wind gust outside. I got up to check out the commotion and secure the plants on my balcony when I saw this senior citizen standing out by the bus stop. Right at that moment her walker was being blown away by the wind and she was trying to chase it down. It rolled off the sidewalk and fell in the street. Im not sure why this lady was out at 2:30am, but I could tell she could hardly walk, much less step off that curb or bend down to right her walker. So I threw on some clothes and ran down. By the time I got there, she had fallen over of the curb and was crying. I helped her up, got her walker and got her back on her feet. Im sure the sight of a huge black man in a black hoody scared her to death. I dont think she spoke english, compounded by some kind of stroke because I couldnt make out anything she was saying; but she let me walk her back to her retirement community gates, then I think she tried to say thank you and was smiling, so I let her walk on in and watched till she entered her building. I hope I did enough and she wasnt injured in the tumble. That was the strangest night before Christmas experience ever, so I figured Ill leave this message to convince myself I wasnt dreaming in the morning.
