Thats Entertainment have some great new releases this week - pop along and check them out! The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (£11.99) The second instalment in the hugely successful Hunger Games franchise arrives on DVD with Jennifer Lawrence reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen. Set after the events of the first movie, Katniss and, fellow Hunger Game winner, Peeta Mellark embark on a “winner’s tour” but it soon become apparent their actions have began to stir an uprising amongst the Districts and panic amongst the Capitol’s officials. As a result, a deadly twist is placed on the 75th Game. Escape Plan (£9.99) 80s action legends Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone reunite in this prison-based action thriller. Stallone plays Ray Breslin, co-owner of a company that specialises in ensuring all maximum security prisons do not have any weakness that would allow prisoner’s to escape. After a dodgy deal with the CIA goes awry, he becomes a prisoner in the most secret and secure prison. With no way to prove his true identity Breslin befriends fellow inmate Emil (Schwarzenegger) and together they hatch a plan to escape… George Michael – Symphonica (£10.99) In 2011 George Michael brought an unusual tour to his fans. Rather than a display of the pop music he’s well known for he recruited a whole orchestra and presented beautiful reworkings of some of his most loved tracks as well as a mixture of covers. This album, bearing the same name as the tour, is a live recording of those unique gigs. Kylie Minogue – Kiss Me Once (£8.99) “Kiss Me Once” is the 12th studio album in Kylie Minogue’s 27 year music career. Not one to let things get stagnant Kylie parted ways with her manager with whom she worked with since the start of the career and was offered management under Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. This has allowed her to branch out and bring a fresh and youthful sound to her music by working with the likes of Sia and Darkchild, amongst others, whilst still maintaining the essence of what makes a Kylie Minogue pop song. Skrillex – Recess (£9.99) Whilst Skrillex has released several EPs and helped produced numerous tracks, “Recess” is the debut album from the dubstep music producer. “Recess” brings 11 fresh tracks which bring that recognisable Skrillex sound that some claim is the musical equivalent of marmite. Featuring several collaborations from established and up-and-coming artists such as Fatboy Slim and Chance The Rapper.
