Thats enough not reading for tonight. Charles Williams chapter - TopicsExpress

Thats enough not reading for tonight. Charles Williams chapter the doctrine of substituted love is rather interesting. It takes passages such as 1 Peter 5:7 and gives it an entirely new, mystical twist. I like it, and if I recall correctly, Williams put for something similar in Descent of the Dove, though its been a couple years. Im rather enjoying Williams. I must admit, Ive never been keen on Lewis fiction (to be fair, I havent read his mature fiction, just his apologia, theology, some of his academic work, and of course Narnia) but I like Williams. Itll never supplant JRRT because JRRT is all about Northerness, and honour, and Anglo-Saxon and Germanic myths and history and all of that. Williams is too Dante/Classical for me (I like the Mediterranean worlds, of course - Dante, Renaissance, Rome, Greece, etc. but not like I like the North) but hes still interesting. Ok, back to the book.
