Thaw continued Friday with afternoon temperatures rising well into the 40s - warmest here since January 4th. Throw in sunny skies and what an open to the weekend. A front has stalled over the state so there is a large spread in temperatures at from north to south. Eventually the front lifts north as a warm front Saturday AM. Strong southwest wind will bring mild 50° temps to the city for the second time this month and warmest in almost 2 weeks. 89% of all Januarys on record have produced a 50° day, Saturday will be number two! Thaw ends with the passage of a cold front around 12 AM Sunday. Stronger northwest winds bring colder air and snow showers back to end the weekend.
