The 1.1 Trillion dollar funding bill put forward by Congress today, and agreed to by the Republicans is a disgrace and shows their willingness to break promises made prior to the election. It is time for the people to act if neither party will do what WE want them to then perhaps it is time for a new party. We need to talk about this in a cohesive, concerted manner. If we did this we would take a lot of flack from both sides of the aisle, worse than what they do to the Tea Party. But it looks like the time has come for us to push for a new party that is made up of principled Americans committed to Constitutional limits to government power and the rule of law. It is time to do this. We also need to get a Convention of States together and push for Constitutional Amendments that cannot be stopped by Congress or the President. 1) Balanced Budget Amendment limited to a fixed percentage of GDP that can only be changed by a 2/3 majority of both houses and ONLY during a National Emergency or in Time of War that expires when the Emergency or War is over or five years in any case subject to re-passage. 2) Term limits for all elected office holders 2 Terms for Senators, 5 Terms for Congressmen. 3. Restore the Senate to be selected by the State Legislatures of the States they represent as originally intended by the Framers with right of recall. 4. Establish term limits for Supreme Court Justices at a maximum of 12 years. Thats just for a start.
