The 114th U.S. Congress convenes today, counting more women and minorities than ever. By the numbers: Congress will have a record 104 #women and 96 racial minorities. For the first time in history, both parties will include both male and female African-American members. But, women only make up about 20% of Capitol Hill versus 51% of the general population. We know we can do better but hope this is a start of a more equal U.S. government with minority and womens voices - and womens rights - at the top of the agenda. But can you believe it is 2015 and only now were celebrating this milestone?
