The 12 principles of the Mother of Auroville, re-read and commented for team and leadership settings: Sincerity - as transparency and open communication Humility - as understanding power / leadership as serving the Divine Gratitude - knowing that everybody in the team is important, and that we are blessed to receive power and money to work on a project in the service of the Divine Perseverance - not in the sense of perseverance of our own aims and agenda, but of the bigger picture - perseverance in surrendering to the Divine and manifesting this through our projects. Aspiration - which also includes the question why we are doing something, what the shared vision is outside money and power, which too often become a purpose in themselves Receptivity - openness for input through others, for cooperation in mutual respect Progress - knowing what humanity has been doing so far is not enough and enjoying innovation and progress towards healing societies and the planet Courage - the courage to do without money and power and beyond money and power, for the reasons why we are in Auroville and why we surrender to the Divine Goodness - a simple smile, and the beauty of trust Generosity - sharing wealth and power and not accumulating in one or two units around three or four people, and understanding this generosity as the source of any creative flow in the universe. Equality - all are equally important and precious, hierarchies only where they are based on skills and supportive for all, and not connected to power and money, but understanding as a path towards realizing a project Peace - in the end it is only about peace.
