The 1999 Songtrack of Yellow Submarine features the best remastering and--finally--decent mixes on songs that were woefully inadequate in stereo previously (the Rubber Soul tracks come to mind with the vocals on one side and the instruments on the other leaving a gaping hole in the middle), Nowhere Man, for example, sounds incredible on this CD with the vocals finally split and the instrumental tracks placed in a rational position. My question: why wasnt a remix done for the 2005 remastered CDs? I bought Rubber Soul ready to be thrilled. and instead was bitterly disappointed to hear the same old mixes with the treble increased...lame.
