The 19th annual Joel Murray Fishing Derby will be held on May 17th at Sweatt Beach, Lake Pearl. The fishing will begin at 8:00 am and end at 3:00 pm. Feel free to fish from the shore or launch a boat from the landing. The largest fish by weight wins $150. There is a youth category as well for children under 12, $50 cash prize and trophy! Following the fishing derby, everyone is invited back to The Eagle Brook Saloon for some drinks and some food (the food is no charge, included in ticket fee). For those of you fishing with young children, please break the “barbs” off of the hooks for safety reasons, there will be a pair of pliers at the picnic table to do this.
