The 1st Annual Jack Joyce Scholarship award ceremony was held last - TopicsExpress

The 1st Annual Jack Joyce Scholarship award ceremony was held last night in Portland the the Rogue Distillery and Public House. A number of OSU students and faculty attended the event looking forward to the seeing two of our students walk away with $10,000 scholarships. Well, the folks at Rogue and Columbia Distributing went a step further and gave each of the three finalists a $10,000 award. This is truly unprecedented - three scholarships of this magnitude focused specifically on OSU students enrolled in our Food Science/Fermentation Science program. In the attached picture are (from left to right, front row) Trevor Lauman, Amanda Woodruff, and Daniel Sharp and (in the back row from left to right), Joan Joyce (Jack Joyce’s wife), Mark Walen (President and General Manager of Columbia Distributing) and Brett Joyce (President of Rogue Ales and son of Jack Joyce). This award is incredible recognition of the great things going on at OSU and the tremendous potential of our students as future leaders of the Oregon brewing industry. Congratulations Trevor, Amanda and Daniel! Tom
