The 2013 European Paso Fino Championships in Schutterwald ended yesterday and all we have to say is: It was great! Hot horses and even hotter temperatures (luckily there was a lake nearby for a welcome dip), but all participating horses and humans have given their best. Outstanding and not ever experienced before in this form was the support of the board and volunteers from the RV Schutterwald - what you people did to support us was outstanding! You are great! The many spectators got to see very good quality horses in the classes and enjoyed Paso Finos at their finest. Anna Eschner and German Higueira formed a very harmonious team of judges and have detailed explanations to each placement which will surely help one or the other participants in the future to increase their own performance. Especially the fun classes and party on Saturday evening will long be remembered. Gerhild Langer as a skier (including skis!) or Sabrina Groen as Miss Lollipop (the distributed lollipops made especially the young audience were happy!) in the costume class were worth more than a glance, and the exhilarating run-off in the four-beat class between Helmut Bross and Harald Schöner made the audience burst into enthusiasm! Another highlight was our speaker Sebastian Frisch with a live performance of his song "Ga(i)tes to the Heart" (the song written for the World Championships for Icelandic Horses, currently taking place in Berlin) - many thanks for that! Thanks also to all the organizers who have for months spared neither expense nor effort to make these championships a successfull event and thanks to all helpers behind the scenes - without you and your tireless efforts this show could not have happened!
