The 2013 high school football season started on a losing note Friday night for the Nashville Scrappers. Despite jumping out to a 14 to nothing first quarter lead over Hope, the Bobcats came back to defeat the Scrappers by a final count of 35 to 21. Nashville took an early 7 to nothing lead. Following a 74 yard run by LaMichael Pettway, the Scrappers Kyler Lawrence converted a one yard run for a touchdown. That lead doubled later in the opening quarter, when Asher Walker caught a 39 yard touchdown pass for a score. Hope came back to score back to back touchdowns on a 55 yard touchdown pass and a 4 yard run. The two teams also traded touchdowns before halftime..as the game remained tied at 21. The second half belonged to Hope, as the Bobcats added a pair of touchdowns..while shutting out the Scrappers. Nashville travels to De Queen next week in what will be the first of 3 consecutive road games.
