The 2014 AIT Environmental Leadership Camp is going to begin tomorrow! 40 students from Taiwan and Japan will embark on a three-day learning journey at the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium in Pingtung. The delegation from Japan arrived in Kaohsiung today and was welcomed by AIT Public Diplomacy Section Chief Joseph Bookbinder, AIT Kaohsiung Branch Chief Robert DeWitt, AIT Cultural Affairs Officer Alys Spensley, and AIT Kaohsiung Deputy Branch Chief Jason Chue as well as alumni of U.S. government exchange programs. The camp aims to cultivate environmental awareness, international perspective, and community commitment in the next generation of leaders, and also to strengthen cultural and educational ties between the United States, Taiwan, and Japan. 2014 AIT 環境領袖營將於明天開跑囉!40位來自全台灣各地以及日本的大學生將在屏東海生館進行三天兩夜的學習旅程。日本學生代表已於今日抵台,由AIT文化新聞組組長周書龍 (Joseph Bookbinder)、高雄分處處長杜維浩 (Robert DeWitt)、文化官蘇阿麗 (Alys Spensley) 、高雄分處副處長楚杰生 (Jason Chue),以及美國交換計畫學友代表歡迎。今年的營隊主旨在於培養未來領袖人才具備環境意識、國際觀與社區關懷,也希望能促進美、日、台三方的文化教育交流。
