The 2014 Ebola epidemic as stated by the Center for Disease - TopicsExpress

The 2014 Ebola epidemic as stated by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention is one of the largest epidemics in the history, affecting multiple countries in West Africa. The epidemic has killed hundreds and thousands of people in West African countries mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. The Government and other Non-Governmental Organizations are working very hard in those countries that are affected to treat and prevent the spread of Ebola. In cooperation with other agencies, The Salvation Army’s William Booth clinic team along with trained emergency responders from the church and charity’s headquarters in Monrovia are partnering to help around 5,000 affected individuals. The emergency response comes at a high personal cost to some of the personnel involved. One Salvation Army officer in Liberia has lost four family members to the disease, and prayers are urgently sought for the situation.
