The 2014 Fall tour to Maryland and New York with the Aeolians will - TopicsExpress

The 2014 Fall tour to Maryland and New York with the Aeolians will be a weekend that I shall never forget. The group has worked so very hard this semester and it surely did pay off. Honestly, I have never quite enjoyed the sounds coming from the choir as much as I did that night. I smiled, cried and was so moved all evening long. Those of you in attendance at Sligo, I trust that you were moved as we certainly were. In retrospect, the thematic germs are all so fitting for today: Let there be peace on earth, Agnus Dei, No more trials there etc. The audio/visual additions to our programming, in a strange and powerful way, meant more on the evening than when we were putting it together. Our talented students really are very creative with blocking, lighting ideas and visuals. The orchestra.....you guys were KILLING!!!!! Whew.... To the The Aeolians, I love and appreciate you guys more than you will ever know. As I always share with you, the choral world is changing drastically. Programming ideas are varied and THAT IS A GOOD THING!!. Many claim to follow the choral trends, when really they are not really in tune. Let us continue to add variations to the choral buffet line. Roberto Burton, I cannot thank you enough for the work over the last two months. Whew, you deserve a vacation. Vilroy McBean, how should I say this? Your talents have allowed me to creatively think on a whole new level. I loved and can easily navigate being manager, road manager, logistic coordinator, etc, but having some extra brain space to grow musically has been a treat. Wayne Bucknor and Neil A. Thomas, thanks for the support on the keys. Let us push the envelope even further! John Stoddart, what can I say about that chart? Cedric Dent, the arrangements keep taking us back to the old hymns wrapped in fresh attire. Angelo D. Johnson Jr., you flew from Cleveland just to support. Means the world. Cynthia Renee Music, Voice Angel, thanks for coming out. Karen Johnson, you came from Cali!!!! WOWOW. Anthony Brown, I know you were busy, but you came out and that meant the world to the students and I. Let us do something sooooon. To Adrian Westney (The SDA Quincy Jones), you are a genius. Karel Holness, you are the man. Kyle Alexander, the man! Cheryl Wilson Bridges, thanks for being such a gracious host. We thoroughly enjoyed the time. Donna-Mae Francis, the consummate planner! Stacia D. Wright, Desmond Pierre-Louis, N Charwin Nah, Donna Johnson Scott, Doreen A. K. Hines you all were awesome. Altino Brothers, thank you for the NY leg. Fearful I am leaving someone out. Charge my tired brain and not my heart.
