The 2014 Formula 1 Championship 1) new FIA Rules - 30% less fuel i.e 100 kg of fuel per race - means engines are more fuel efficient means everything from type of fuel, to engine oil, to gear box oil have to re-engineered - Additional Energy Recovering System recovering energy from feul exhaust - (means 33 secs of 160 BHP power!!!) - 8 forward gears instead of standard 7 gears - means more power to driver to harness that beast of an engine!! - 2.4 ltr V8 engine with 750 BHP goes out and in comes a reduced 1.6 litre V6 with a 600 BHP engine and with a max of 15k rpm (but another 160 BHP coming from ERS) - only 5 engines allowed per season instead of 8 - so new durable engines!! - 49 kilos of increased power train unit - reduced nose and front wing so basically Red bull and vettels dominance will be shaken (as is evident from vettle not qualifying in the very first race) every car is rebuilt from scratch so every team has a chance to build cars. CHallenges in this season has never been this high since 20 years - that was when schumi ruled! This F1 season is gonna be Epic!!!
