The 2014 theme of National Family Caregivers Month is “Care Comes Home.” VA’s Caregiver Support Program offers education, resources, support, and services to ensure that those who provide care at home, family Caregivers, have the tools they need to provide the best care. The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center Caregiver Support Coordinator, Erica Eugene, LCSW can be reached at 312-569-6032 to assist you with accessing resources, including trainings offered on-line, in person, and over the telephone, and a Peer Support Mentoring Program. The VA Caregiver Support website (caregiver.va.gov) offers information, tools and tips, and can assist Caregivers in connecting to additional tools and resources. Caregivers of Veterans can also contact VA’s Caregiver Support Line (1-855-260-3274) to learn more or to be linked to the Caregiver Support Coordinator at their closest VA medical center.
