The 2015 Hall of Fame Ballot has officially been announced. Voters have all month of December to cast their vote with the results being announced on January 6, 2015. John Smoltz is among the guys appearing on the ballot for the first time in 2015. Do you think Smoltz gets into the Hall of Fame his first year on the ballot??? Several other Braves are on the ballot: Fred McGriff, Gary Sheffield, Jermaine Dye, and Jason Schmidt. 75% gets a player elected, players need 5% to remain on the ballot for the next year. As of 2015, a player can only remain on the ballot for 10 years (instead of 15), but players who were already beyond 10 years on the ballot get to stay for the old 15. Don Mattingly, Alan Trammell, and Lee Smith are the only players on the ballot that get grandfathered in on the old 15 yr ballot.
