The 2015 Winning FCC Essay was authored by inaugural members Richard & Joan Jennings. Next year, Palmer will be inspired to create his international service after volunteering service. Here is their essay: We believe John’s 2015 study-abroad should involve a special and unusual volunteer service, some activity that will inspire him to create next year’s international art series, showing what transformational leadership is all about. While John has always been one to give back to the community, such as his Escapists Program, next year’s volunteer service should be something he has never done, even if he may fear to do it. By stepping outside of his comfort zone, and displaying courageous leadership as a volunteer, he will experience a new creativity, beyond what has happened in the past. By giving of himself, in special service to others, John will receive much more in return, hopefully to be inspired to create art masterpieces, unlike his admirers and patrons have seen before.
