The 2017 Assembly elections in Punjab could become interesting if AAP works on the mandate South Punjab has given to the party. My piece in Tehelka. Over the past three decades, the voice of the people of Punjab has been scuttled by the empty rhetoric of both the ruling SAD-BJP and the Congress. With infighting rampant in the Congress, the state is almost completely in the grip of the Badals, who run it on their whims and fancies.... The mandate is simply because the hardy and pragmatic people of Punjab have taken the party (AAP) at face value and used it to send a message to the SAD-BJP and the Congress.
