The 21st iteration of Art Taipei, formerly known as Taipei Art Fair International, will take place from November 8 to 11, 2013, at the Taipei World Trade Center. As the longest-running art fair in Asia, Art Taipei serves as the main platform for trading and exhibiting contemporary Asian art. Art Taipei not only stands as the cultural hub of the Chinese contemporary art scene, but is also the connection point between Southeast and Northeast Asia and embodies the conjunctive practice between visual arts and the industry. Art Taipei 2013 will feature five gallery sections on the show floor. The main exhibition area will be reserved for the Art Galleries section, which will feature internationally-diverse galleries from many Asian countries as well as Western nations such as the United States, Switzerland, and France. The Art Classic section will showcase classic Taiwanese paintings dating back to the early 20th century. The New Media section will focus on video and digital art, and will spotlight Japanese artist Mohri Yuko and Hong Kong artist Him Lo. The Young Art Discovery section will be the focal point for collectors looking to spot the emerging next generation of talented artists. Finally, the Fresh Art section embraces the contemporary art scene and is reserved for galleries established within the last five years. In addition to these five sections, Art Taipei will also feature forums and lecture tailored for art-lovers With a variety of programs exhibitors, Art Taipei will definitely bring in new energy to stimulate new ways of thinking in terms of artistic exploration and appreciation.
