The 25 year anniversary of the death of six firemen killed in an explosion caused by arson fires. • Capt. James Kilventon, 54 • Capt. Gerald Halloran, 59 • Firefighter Thomas Fry, 41 • Luther Hurd, 31 • Robert McKarnin, 42 • Michael Oldham, 32 This was the most tragic event to have ever happened in Kansas City. My heart goes out to the families and friends of these brave firemen. It is because of firefighters that so many lives have been saved over the years. They truly are heroes. I also feel for these men and their families who remain in prison. Hoping and waiting for the truth to set them free. I believe it is time real justice was served. These firemen were selflessly dedicated to their work. I truly believe they would not want five innocent people to have lost their own lives because of their tragedy. Five people lost their freedom because prosecutors needed to pin this on someone and they did. No physical evidence. Just questionable witness testimony from people who claimed to have heard some of these five taking credit for the crime. If these five are innocent then justice was never done. The U.S. attorneys office says there are two people not in prison who share responsibility for this crime. If so, why have they never prosecuted? Two female security guards admitted they set the fires and we have a witness to this statement. Lets all pull together and demand the prosecution take action toward finding the people who are truly responsible. Surely, this is what these firemen would have wanted. They were brave men, but also just. A review of the eyewitness evidence shows a driver was passing by the site that night and swears that she saw a female guard standing beside a truck on fire before running off. This security guard had admitted to setting a car on fire and pushing it in the river, in the past, for insurance purposes. Even the KCMO police stated that former ATF agent Dave True didnt even investigate the guards despite an apparent motive and access to the site. I apologize if this letter brings you any pain. Just know that I am only doing this because I believe in justice. The family members of these now 4 that were convicted of this crime want their loved ones home. No motive and no physical evidence as well as eyewitnesses who know where these people were that night should be enough to question the case against them. One of the five died an innocent man in prison. God bless you, families of these fallen heroes. If you choose to help fight for real justice for these brave men then join us as we are determined to see justice served at long last. -Sonya Bunch(chicsonyab@gmail) (-thank you Aaron!) kcfirefighterscase kansascity/581/index.html
