This drama, which used ghost-busting night watchmen as its subject matter, had received interest from viewers before its broadcast for emphasizing the fantasy elements. While the news that Jung Yunho had taken on the role of Moo Seok, the military officer from the Inspection Department under the King’s direct supervision, was reported, the interest regarding the period drama visuals he would be showing everybody was high. Jung Yunho had taken on the role of upright and loyal Moo Seok, and had captured attention first through his perfect hanbok (Korean traditional costumes) poise. His extraordinary poise during the times when he was wearing his military officer outfit, or when he is wearing the gat (Korean traditional hat) and the train of his robes was fluttering, was outstanding to the extent that it leaves one feeling that it is a pity that he is appearing in period dramas only at this point in time. To the extent that he is a military officer, there were also many times when he has to show off his action skills acting, and his picturesque action scenes which are shown through his agile physique evoked even an elegant feel, further drawing the viewers in. In addition, the more the drama progressed, the more Jung Yunho maximized the charms of Moo Seok with his acting abilities which are gradually improving. Moo Seok, whose loyalty is awesome in whatever situations although he is seen to be blunt, did not cast aside his belief in Gisangun (Kim Heung Soo) even when the latter was being unruly like an insane person. Jung Yunho completed the character of Moo Seok with his low speaking tone and intense gaze and he expressed Moo Seok’s emotions in a detailed manner with period drama tone and his natural intonation. Through this production, Jung Yunho, who had traversed many fields, has proven that it is possible for him to digest the period drama genre as well. Through “Journal of Night Watchmen”, Jung Yunho has outstandingly digested period drama acting. Having concluded “Journal of Night Watchmen”, Jung Yunho had revealed his thoughts through his company, “While living the life of Moo Seokie, I felt that he was a really cool / suave friend, and through Moo Seokie, an opportunity has arisen for me to once again grow. I think that because there was Moo Seokie’s loyalty in my life, it is yet another lesson for me, and I will work hard in order to approach everybody in an even more genuine / sincere manner”. Jung Yunho is scheduled to return as TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho and focus on his team activities. TVXQ is holding their special live tour ‘TVXQ! SPECIAL LIVE TOUR – T1ST0RY -‘ in Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium on 6 and 7 December. In addition, TVXQ will launch into their Japanese 5-Dome tour for the second time from February next year in Fukuoka, Tokyo, Sapporo, Nagoya and Osaka. Translated by mug_ping
