The 2nd Beatitude on our ladder is "Blessed are the MEEK, for they - TopicsExpress

The 2nd Beatitude on our ladder is "Blessed are the MEEK, for they shall possess the earth" - what does this mean? Inasmuch as poverty is a state of humble subjection, the "poor in spirit", come near to the "meek", they who humbly and meekly bend themselves down before God and man, shall "inherit the land" and possess their inheritance in peace. This is very "funny" how this works - because it is the exact opposite of how people believe it works. When you are meek, you subject yourself 1st to God and therefore to your fellow man, by doing this, you actually give no one power over yourself, because they can not take what is given freely - the reason you "possess the earth" is because of the inner peace of soul, that this gives one - you actually become a "slave to no man or no possession" ... God actually gives freely, what we deny ourselves. Those who seek the earth are never satisfied. They can never never fill the void, the seek and seek and seek and never find. When you have mastered meekness - the gift of the Holy Ghost is Piety - Piety is a filial affection for God and all things holy - without meekness, you will never have piety .. without piety, you can never be a Saint.
