The 3-day weekend (in the U.S.) gave me lots of time to turn (and burn...it was hot in Southern California). These are the things I did on Sunday. The cheese/cake plate is made of scraps of walnut and alder (I think) and a glass dome that I found at a second-hand store. The square bowl is my first attempt at a square bowl. The top is too thick, so I will put it back on the lathe and fix that. BTW, I did not enjoy turning this one. I couldnt see the corners as it was spinning and that made it difficult to get a nice contour. And I finally finished the lamps...wired and shaded, ready for me to finish our bedroom furniture so they can take their place as night-table lamps.
