The 389th Army Band, otherwise known as the U.S. Army Materiel - TopicsExpress

The 389th Army Band, otherwise known as the U.S. Army Materiel Command Band, is the pride of the command and Team Redstone. But did you know that from 1959 to 1975, the 55th Army Band was also stationed at Redstone Arsenal? The 55th Army Band was originally formed at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and supported the Second Corps area. Through various activations and inactivations, the band moved around the world until it settled at Redstone Arsenal to support the U.S. Army Ordnance Missile Command in 1959. In 1975, the band was inactivated again, with members sent to various Army bands across the United States to support Bicentennial activities in 1976.
