The 6 April Youth Movement condemns the stubborn attitude with which the prison authorities are treating the prisoners from the movement. The authorities of Torah Prison had initially agreed to allow fans into the cells of Ahned Maher, Mohammed Adel and Ahmed Douma. However, they remained stubborn and refused to allow the fans which led to the three activists suffering health issues. Mohammed Adel suffered an increase in blood pressure. Ahmed Maher and Ahmed Douma have been suffering health problems since their detention. The prison authorities have been too stubborn even to allow doctors inside to diagnose them. Also the youth who are detained in Abu Zabal (Ahmed Jamal Zyada and Sayed El Massry) are facing similar harsh and negative treatment in prison. The administration of Wadi El Natroun prison is not much better than those of the prisons previously mentioned, as Kareem Taha, Emam Fouad, Mahmoud Farahat and Mohammed Shereef are being treated in a way that cannot be considered humane by any standards The movement demands the National Council of Human Rights to perform its study and monitor the treatment of prisoners by the prison authorities.
