The 7 Dwarfs have reportedly expressed an interest in buying the LA Clippers. ...along with the arguable crowd and Commissioner Silver favorite, Magic Johnson (with the Guggenheim Partners) who said hes more interested in bringing the NFL to LA but, is almost being encouraged by the NBA. At the press conference yesterday, the Commish stated, Magic Johnson knows hes always welcome as an owner in this league. Hes been a part owner in the past of the Los Angeles Lakers and is always welcome and a close friend of the NBA family. Sean Puffy Puff Daddy P.Diddy P-Diddy Pop Diddy Combs ($580m) & Rick Ross (Hundred Thousandaire...ok, $35m), Floyd Mayweather ($170m) and the billionaires hes trying to assemble, Oscar De La Hoya ($200m) Patrick Soon-Shiong ($9.8b) who purchased Magic Johnsons 4.5% interest in the LA Lakers, Rick Caruso ($1.7b), the real estate developer who, along with Joe Torrey dropped out of the running for the LA Dodgers sweepstakes, and the other bet for smart money, IMHO, the potential team of Oprah Winfrey ($2.9b), music and movie mogul, David Geffen ($6.2b), and Oracle CEO, Larry Ellison ($43b). The estimated value of the Clippers, the 13th highest valued team in the NBA, is $575m. To put this in perspective, Larry Ellison could pay cash for the team like the average american family sacrifices to take the whole family (except the Golden Retriever) to dinner...at IHOP...about $50. Rick Ross, on the other hand would have as much of an interest if he liquidated EVERYTHING as the hard-working man who just paid off the 15 year old minivan out front of the house he rents for his family.
