The 91 car next to a 2010 XC70 3.2. I spotted this car at lunchtime and was able to talk to its owner, an emergency-room physician whom I will call Dr. K. Soon the conversation turned to the inherent safety of Volvos and what Dr. K told me was insightful - she told me that she sees a good number of car accident victims in the ER of the hospital where she works and she mentioned that 9 out of 10 times, those who were in either a Volvo or Mercedes-Benz have survived their crashes with minimal to moderate injuries. Thats the primary reason why she drives a Volvo - she also added that her family is a Volvo family, and her husband and daughters all drive Volvos. Dr. K also said that of those victims who have or had the worst injuries in crashes, they were usually in a Corvette, Camaro or another high-powered sports car, and noted that a good number of them didnt survive.
