The 963 Project: CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS! Hello fellow poets, musicians, artists, philosophers or whatever you may be. Im conducting an experiment. In the coming months Carrie and I will be hosting a series of Salons in my living room! Here is Salon as defined by the article in About: (noun) - Salon, from the French word salon (a living room or parlor), means a conversational gathering. Usually this is a select group of intellectuals, artists and politicians who meet in the private residence of a socially influential (and often wealthy) person. This will be a hybrid of a variety show and the traditional French Salon defined above. The goal is to gather people together who are interested in art for arts sake; to create a space for folks who are needing to express something, present a work in progress, or a finished piece, to gain feedback or to present for the practice presenting provides. Unlike an open mic, I will be curating an evening that will be between 30min to a full hour. Id like to tie the evenings together with artists who have complementary work. If you wish to perform, send an email to salonproject963@gmail with a brief proposal outlining what you plan to do. If you dont know how long your work will take or and exact script, a rough estimate is fine. There is no limit to what you can present! Also, Id like to emphasize that this is open to artist of all kinds. If you are a visual artist and have paintings, photographs, or video work youd like to present, I would love to find a place for it to be displayed for the evening. Our space is limited, so all RSVPs and event details will be through email. Ideally, the show will be the last Sunday of each month starting in April, though dates are currently TBD. If it goes well, we might do this every month!
