The #AAPDharna signifies something bigger than the demand to make the Delhi Police accountable, it is perhaps a cover up for Arvind Kejriwals indefensible defense of Somnath Bharti. Should we condone the fact Somnath Bharti named a Rape victim in his press release (violating the Criminal Procedure Code), then asked the police to raid a house without a warrant, restrained and harassed women, carried out a citizens arrest against innocent females without the presence of female police officers, made disparaging racist remarks against a certain nation and then forge a letter from a non existent Ugandan High Commission (all offences under the Indian Penal Code) and that Arvind Kejriwal still seeks to protect him and doesnt punish him for any of the above by threatening the Central government with what can only be described as a Constituional crisis. If Mr. Kejriwal or Bharti have actual proof against the police or any one else why cant they approach the courts and have a FIR registered. Mr. Kejriwal knows that there is a reason that police is not granted sweeping powers like these, because it would lead to autocracy. Further, this is merely a pretisge issue now for Kejriwal, if he really wanted to see serious action he could have gone to the Delhi assembly and tried to pass a unanimous resolution condemning the police which would force the LG to act. This entire charade is an effort to garner more attention as he already knows that the Central Government cannot give in to his request to transfer the control of Delhi police to the state. And lastlyl, i ask, can anyone also support his disparaging comments on Republic day ? #QuitAAP
