The AFP has turned down a plea from Papua New Guinea to help - TopicsExpress

The AFP has turned down a plea from Papua New Guinea to help interview witnesses following the murder of Reza Berati at the Manus asylum processing centre. Their reason: they have no jurisdiction. Australia is responsible for the centre and now they are washing their hands of us. Its no surprise why they selected the remote Manus island for the processing centre, hoping it would be out of sight and mind. Truly disgusted at the Australian government and the AFP for their neglect and abuse of human rights. m.smh.au/federal-politics/political-news/reza-barati-murder-afp-turns-down-png-plea-for-help-to-interview-witnesses-20140331-35u9u.html
