The AIMIM at their pre-elections rally struck a cord with Muslim voters, promising to give the community a voice, and stand up against unfair targeting of its youth. This rallying call paid off at the ballot box, just as it did for others before them. What needs to be seen is will they be all-rhetoric as those before them, or will they come up with innovative solutions that helps the community. Fiery speeches and appeals to the sentiments of a particular community are good for short term political gains; but in the long term they will have to prove themselves as effective and honest administrators that wins the trust of all their constituents, regardless of religion or caste or language in secular multi-cultural India.
