The AJC wanted to do a cute mothers day story on our broody chicken and all we had done to satisfy that maternal instinct. The link below is the story of our chicken who became grumpy while waiting to be a mom. I feel a need to add a tiny bit to the back story to prevent any confusion. The plastic practice golf balls were already in place in many of the nesting boxes as a visual que for my young chickens to lay eggs in our nesting box and not on the ground. The broody chicken (angry Mama) had collected several plastic practice golf balls on her own and added them to her box and sat on them wanting chicks. What is amazing she did end up with chicks....
