The ARMM Council Against Trafficking-in-Persons (ACAT) through the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) and Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO) in coordination with United Nations Childrens Fund (UNICEF) spearheaded the conduct of the Municipal Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (MCAT-VAWC) meetings for the target municipalities of UNICEF. Series of meetings were conducted at the municipal halls of Parang and Mamasapano, Maguindanao on November 17 & 18, 2014 for the mainland municipalities. For the island municipalities, a meeting was conducted at the Marcian Hotel in Zamboanga City for the municipalities of Parang & Siasi, Sulu; at the municipal hall of Languyan, Tawi-Tawi; and at Danmar Beach Resort for the province of Tawi-Tawi on December 8, 10, & 12, 2014 respectively. The activities aim to identify priority programs and projects from January to June 2015 for possible funding by the LGUs or with the support of ACAT and other development partners.
