The ASU is holding our 3rd annual book drive! Any student, staff, faculty or community member with any book they want to donate can drop it off to the Student Union between April 8th and May 5th. There will be drop off bins located by the main entrance of the Students’ Union Building, BAC and Huggins. Last year we donated over 90 boxes of books. Lets see if we can surpass that! Books accepted are listed below • Textbooks and Study Guides (clean and legible condition) with copyright dates from the past 10 years • Workbooks (with no missing pages) • Basically any book used in a college classroom (highlighting or writing in books is fine so long as the text isnt obscured) • Accompanying CDs • fiction and non-fiction books Please do not drop of books if they are: • Dirty • Moldy • Water Damaged • Damaged Binding or Pages • Textbooks over 10 years old All books will be donated to Better World Books which is a global bookstore that harnesses the power of capitalism to bring literacy and opportunity to people around the world. It supports programs like Room to Read, Books for Africa, Invisible Children and many more. So far, the company has converted more than 58 million books into over $10.4 million in funding for literacy and education. In the process, we’ve also diverted more than 40,000 tons of books from landfills.
