The Abused Woman A woman is married, and now in love, To her man who she thinks only of. One day they get into an argument, He hits her, as she falls down pregnant. He says, “Thats not what I meant to do”, She lies to herself believing it is true. Another time shes been hit by a man, Still she justifies ways to understand. Staying is what she feels marriage is, Wanting to stay a family for her kids. Believing in “to death due us part”, Yet, all the love is dead in her heart. Thinking she cant afford to live all alone, Trapped behind walls in a abusive home. Living for this man in his own world, On the outside a woman, inside a girl. He hits her again, again, and again, She thinks it will get better, and end. She starts to think its all her fault, A half true lesson her pains taught. Every other day he curses her out, Kids think thats what lifes about. People see the problems, and ask, Lying she wears a disguising mask. In her own heart she cant even lie, The hurt she can no longer deny. She must find a way out to leave, Her blind eyes have come to see. No longer can she hide her fears, Rivers cry from her eyes, as tears. Confusing love with pain shed feeled, If she doesnt leave shell be killed.
