The Acting Administration of the English Programme ELECTIONS FOR MEMBERS OF THE STUDENTS COUNCIL OF THE ENGLISH PROGRAMME / MEDICAL UNIVERSITY - VARNA Stand: 29.11.2014, 21:45 oclock Dear Colleagues, we would like to invite you to vote for your representatives in the Students Council (SC). I had to consider many factors before choosing the right day for the elections: a lot of students are going to leave Varna on the 5.12., so would a later election day take away their right to vote. The right to vote must be executed personally and cannot be delegated to others. Some of you asked me personally not to set the elections date for a day after the 5th of December. The right to vote has a higher priority compared to the right of a longer pre-election period. So, in order to make elections possible before the Winter Semester ends, the elections will take place one week earlier as the initial time table for the elections. Election day: Friday, 05.12.2014 Election time: from 9:00 to 16:30 oclock Polling station Nr. 1: Foyer (main entrance) of the Medical University - Varna -> first and second year medical and dental students can vote only here Polling station Nr. 2: Locker room, St. Marina Hospital - Varna -> third, fourth, fifth and sixth medical and dental students can vote only here ELECTION DEBATES: 03.12.2014, 19:00 oclock, II. Auditorium, 3. Floor of the MU-Varna, everyone is invited! All candidates should be there too! 1) Who has the right to vote? Only medical and dental students of the English Programme of the MU-Varna. 2) Who has the right to be elected? Only medical and dental students of the English Programme of the MU-Varna, who have registered themselves for the elections, according to the invitation till the 27.11.2014, 00:00 oclock. New candidates for this semester will no more be accepted. 3) How can I vote? In order to vote you should go to YOUR polling station and show your students book or students ID-Card and an ID-Card or Drivers License. 4) Election rules 4.1. Students without identification documents, according to 3) will not be allowed to vote. 4.2. Students will not have the right to vote in alternative polling stations. 4.3. The right to vote can be exercised ONLY personally. Each student will have to sign in the voters list. 4.4. Each student has ONE VOTE ONLY! Ballot papers with more than one vote will not be considered. 4.5. The elections are anonymous. Ballot papers with additional notes on them that could show the identity of the voter will not be considered. 4.6. Election campaigns on Friday (the election day) are generally forbidden in Bulgaria by the law, this rule will be applied for these elections too. Any election campaigns should end at 23:59 oclock on Thursday, 04.12.2014. This rule applies for Facebook too. 4.7. The Ballot Papers will be counted at the SC-Office as soon they reach the SC-Office with the election committees. Every candidate has the right to see the counting and does not have the right to count or to film the process. The results will be published not later than 3 days after the election with an official protocol. 4.8.
